If it’s even possible, MSNBC reached a new low point last night when Chris Matthews referred to West Point as an “enemy camp.” I guess we know what side Matthews is on. And so does our military.
Matthews was trying to convey his surprise that President Obama would pick such a “strange venue” for this speech. Since when is it unusual for the president to address the military on defense related issues?
Another stupid comment from Matthews’ pie-hole was ” .…I saw, if not resentment, skepticism. I didn’t see a lot of warmth in that crowd out there....”
If I had been sitting in that audience, I would have had resentment and some skepticism too. I also probably wouldn’t have had a warm fuzzy feeling for the Commander-In Chief.
First, I would really resent the fact that someone not qualified to lead this country or it’s armed forces could possibly be sending me and my buddies off to die in Afghanistan.
I would also be very skeptical that our mission could ever succeed. The greatest of armies have been routinely dissected on the battlefields of Afghanistan. There’s a reason it’s called “The Graveyard of Empires“.
Chris Matthews. Consider the source, then ignore it.
